Nail Art | This year’s hottest nail polish trends, it’s all about nail art designs
Nail art | This year’s hottest trend
Move aside hair extensions and chunky earrings, there's a new accessory on the block- funky nail art! That's right, it may have been around for a while but nail art has been taken to a whole new level- from sparkly glitter and gems to actual nail charms and silver and gold foil stickers, there's no stopping this trend! What's even better is that it's popular among many age groups, including the more mature ladies! With endless nail art designs to choose from, this is a trend that's sure catching on- and fast! Just as attractive is the fact that you can tailor your nail art to suit your personality or a special occasion, which is sure to have you steal the limelight during the party season- or any season for that matter!
Nail art designs | From leopard print to Giles googly eyes
This is a relatively new accessory that's undoubtedly on a par with treating yourself to a new dress or a haircut- it's the next big thing and will definitely have you standing out from the crowd! You might choose to let your wild side out with a leopard print design or you may opt for a more girly feel with flower and bow gems. Whatever you choose, you can't really go wrong- unless you go overboard with the nail jewels that is! What would we class as overboard? Google 'Japanese nail art' and find out for yourself!

The Innovators | Sophy Robson, WAH Nails and the catwalk looks
Nail art is definitely proving to be an integral part of catwalk collections too, as illustrated by designer Marc Jacobs' request to have notorious nail artist Sophy Robson match nail polish to the skin tone of 55 different models at Louis Vuitton! Her work at major catwalk shows has been highly plausible and has seen a spectacular range of nail art, including neon lace at House of Holland and blue and green holographic Minx (the foil look!) transfers at Alexander McQueen.
Nail art is an exciting fashion obsession and is without a doubt a trend that everyone ought to tap into at one point or another- with various designs costing from as little as £20, you'd be mad not to! The runway has seen an array of nail polish colours of late from eye-popping rainbow colours to the more neutral nude and earthy greys- choose a colour and experiment with it because this is a trend that you really can't go wrong with! Mix and match shades and flirt with patterns to come up with some beautiful, quirky and unique designs.
Feel free to invest in some nail art pens to practice painting on stripes or dots onto your nails- it does take a while to get the hang of it, as simple as it sounds, but as they say: practice makes perfect! And if you never quite get the hang of it then just pop into your nearest nail salon and suggest the kind of patterns and colours you're after flaunting- simples! So what are you waiting for? Go on, give it a go! And let us know what kind of nail art you've opted for- we'd love to hear about it! :)
